Condition Guide

We sell computers in two conditions: New and Refurbished - Excellent. The condition is in every product title, next to the price, and on the packing slip, so you always know what you're buying.

Refurbished - Excellent

A used computer that we have tested, cleaned and prepared for its next owner.

How it looks: no visible cosmetic flaws when held at arm's length. Light marks may be visible on close inspection, since these are previously owned machines.
How it works: fully functional. Every unit is tested before it ships (see the checklist below).
Battery: holds a charge and tests at 80% or more of its original capacity. Batteries are used parts, so run time will be shorter than a new machine.
Operating system: the drive is wiped and Windows 11 Pro is freshly installed using the computer's own license.
Covered by our 30-Day Limited Warranty and 30-day returns, with return shipping paid by us.

New

A brand-new computer that has not been previously owned. New products are covered by our 30-Day Limited Warranty and the manufacturer's or vendor's warranty stated on the product page, plus our 30-day returns.

What we check before a refurbished unit ships

Powers on and runs a full hardware test
Screen for dead pixels, marks and backlight problems
Every key, the trackpad and the fingerprint reader where fitted
All ports, including USB, USB-C, HDMI and Ethernet
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera, microphone and speakers
Battery health and charging
Storage drive and memory health
Cooling fans and temperatures under load

Your data, and the previous owner's

Every storage drive is wiped before a computer is resold, and Windows is reinstalled from scratch. Nothing from the previous owner remains on the machine.

A compatible charger, which may not be the original branded one
No original retail box. Units ship in protective packaging.
No extras such as docks, styluses, bags or spare cables, even if they appear in the product photos

About the photos

Most listings use manufacturer photos of the model, not of the exact unit you'll receive. The condition stated in the title is what you get. If you'd like photos of the actual unit before you buy, email us and we'll send them.
