30-Day Limited Warranty
Every computer we sell, refurbished and new, is covered by this Limited Warranty for 30 days from the day it is delivered. It is offered by Outlet Direct LLC, doing business as USA Computer Surplus ("we", "us"), and it applies in addition to your rights under state law.
What this warranty covers
It covers hardware that stops working properly under normal use, including:
- Screen, keyboard, trackpad and internal cooling
- Memory, storage drive, motherboard and graphics hardware
- Ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera and speakers
- The charger we supplied with the unit
- The battery, if it will not hold a charge
What this warranty does not cover
- Gradual loss of battery run time. Batteries in refurbished computers are used and lose capacity over time.
- Accidental damage, including drops, cracked screens, liquid spills and bent ports.
- Cosmetic wear. See our Condition Guide for what each condition looks like.
- Software problems, viruses, forgotten passwords, or changes you make to the operating system.
- Loss of data. Please back up anything important before sending a unit to us.
- Parts or accessories we did not supply, and any hardware added after purchase.
- Units that have been opened, modified or repaired by someone other than us.
- Theft, loss, fire, power surges and other events outside our control.
What we will do
If a covered problem happens within the 30 days, we will replace the unit with the same model or one of equal or better specification. If we cannot supply a suitable replacement, we will refund what you paid for it.
We pay shipping both ways. We send you a prepaid shipping label to return the unit, and we cover the cost of sending the replacement.
How to make a claim
- Email info@usacomputersurplus.com with your order number, the serial number of the unit, and a description of the problem. Photos or a short video help.
- We reply within 1 business day with a prepaid shipping label and packing instructions.
- Back up your data and remove any accounts or passwords before you ship the unit.
- Once the unit reaches us, we test it and send your replacement or refund.
New products
Products listed as New are covered by this 30-day warranty as well, in addition to the manufacturer's or vendor's warranty stated on each product page. You can claim with whichever is easier for you. Manufacturer warranties can usually be transferred to a new owner through the manufacturer's own website.
Returns are separate from this warranty
If you simply want to send something back, you have 30 days from delivery to return it, and we pay return shipping. A restocking fee may apply if an item comes back damaged, missing parts or accessories, or with wear that wasn't there when it shipped; we tell you the amount before processing your refund. Your legal rights
This is a Limited Warranty. Any implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the 30-day period of this warranty, except where state law does not allow that limit. Some states do not allow limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so those limits may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
This warranty covers the original purchaser of the computer.
